No. Name Statement
53 Douglas Burke New Nuclear Power stations would be a disaster for Britain. We already have a terrible financial burden from decommissioning our existing stations. Nuclear Power remains the most expensive and dangerous form of energy production in the world. It is not green or sustainable, there is no safe way to deal with the waste, it provides targets for terrorists and posses a real health risk to everyone. I will oppose its introduction by every means that I can.
52 MJ Yetts The reason for this potential boom in Nuclear power may well be ensuring the continuation of BNFLs "successes", however it is clear to everyone that renewables are a safer, cheaper, and more long-term solution to our current problems.

Furthermore, the government will NOT successfully initiate nuclear power's stronghold on energy production, if it is the last thing sensible; and non-apathetic citizens of the UK, and the rest of the world; do.

I really don't know any one person who thinks that Nuclear is the way forward. I do know many people, though, and myself included, who will be leaving this country post-haste if the government wish to double our chances of a nuclear disaster by adding even one new power station in this part of the world.
51 N Windsor I feel strongly that the radiation from the nuclear energy could pose a great public health risk. The sea levels may rise, rendering pollution into our waters more likely, and hydroelectricity could be more possible once the sea levels have risen. I received a psychic message (I am a healer) that it would also cause warfare if more nuclear stations were built, putting us all in danger in the UK.
50 Ian Plimmer I want future generations to grow up in a pollution free world, nuclear power does not offer that option!
49 DonU The government’s commitment to building nuclear power stations is simply a self-serving piece of business. Like Tony Blair, Brown and his corrupt cronies will walk out of office into the arms of grateful City fat cats. I am desperate to do something to stop these crooks signing contracts with the gathering predators, which will guarantee them a stream of taxpayers’ funds whether or not they build anything. What can we do to force this government to invest in renewable technologies in defiance of their businessman cronies? If we don’t the planet will decay in nuclear and other pollutants before 2020.
48 Roger Heath I for one will not pay to subsidise the nuclear industry, which has still not worked out what to do with its waste which remains deadly for 100s of 1000s of years!
47 Irene Brandt I am opposed to nuclear power on the grounds that it is extremely dangerous, due to terrorist attacks and will contribute to the proliferation of nuclear weapons. It will not help reduce CO2 emissions and a new-build will divert public finance away from the development of sustainable energy sources.
46 dekyi against, Let the earth live
45 Iain Crawford Very strongly against wasting money on Trident renewal/replacement. A big votal NO!
44 Natalie McCall The social, economic and environmental burdens facing present and future generations for the handling, storage and eventual decommissioning of nuclear waste products is higher than any short-term energy benefits. We have a collective responsibility to choose wisely.
